TMR Québec Was There: SITV 2025 Brings Together More Than 350 Destinations in Montreal
by Catherine Maisonneuve
The International Tourism and Travel Show (SITV) concluded on Sunday, November 9th at the Palais des congrès in Montreal, after three days of conferences, exhibitors, and discoveries related to travel. In total, more than 200 exhibitors, including several travel agencies, 350 destinations presented, and 300 conferences captivated visitors.
During our visit, the atmosphere was festive: on the main stage, a traditional Russian dance performance captivated the audience; in the back, in the conference area, a presentation on El Salvador and a culinary demonstration dedicated to Guatemalan cuisine attracted curious onlookers, while in the center, YUL’s canine squad delighted the guests. At the Moroccan booth, henna tattoos were available. Groupe Voyages Québec had even brought a coach inside the Palais des congrès, and the islands of Guadeloupe had transformed their space into a veritable tropical haven. It was buzzing with activity!
Among the destinations highlighted this year were Thailand, India, Andalusia, and Gran Canaria. Also featured in this 35th edition were the Philippines, Japan, Guatemala, Mexico, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Cuba, the Caribbean, and Tunisia. Each of these captivating regions attracts Quebec travelers with its rich traditions, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture. The culinary component complemented this sensory journey, offering a true voyage for the taste buds, while inspiring conferences were held throughout the event.
The Conference Zone offered a unique space for networking where visitors could attend immersive presentations and ask questions of experts. The Traditours, Voyages Lambert, and Groupe Voyages Québec conferences enriched the program with a variety of tours, cruises, and themed presentations. This year again, more than 55 different topics were covered, ranging from classic destinations to hidden gems.
The World Cuisine Area showcased local partners and offered a true culinary journey. Visitors could sample typical dishes from Asia, Europe, and Latin America, discover exclusive products, and meet passionate producers. From the sweetness of Brazilian dulce de leche to Indian spices, taste buds were transported as well.
Finally, on the main stage, cultural diversity was expressed through captivating folk and traditional dances, accompanied by vibrant music presented by the Société du Patrimoine d’Expression du Québec. Every moment in the entertainment area became a gateway to the traditions and rhythms that make our planet beat.
SITV is the largest event of its kind in North America. Montreal can be proud!
