Tourism Western Australia has appointed Anneke Brown as the new managing director.

A highly experienced hospitality and hotel project manager, Brown brings to the role 25 years of experience in hospitality leadership roles, including leading her eponymous hospitality consulting firm, in operation since 2020.

The Perth-based professional steps into the role effective Dec. 9, 2024, and will serve a five-year term.

“Anneke brings with her vital leadership experience and advanced knowledge of the hospitality industry which will only bolster the incredible work of Tourism WA in elevating the State as a desirable destination around the world,” said Tourism Western Australia chair Di Bain.

Throughout her career, Brown has worked closely with hotels in the Western Australia region, including well-known brands like Aman Resorts and COMO Hotels & Resorts. She has been the Chair of WA’s Women in Tourism and Hospitality Association for five years, and is a former Tourism WA Board Commissioner.

Anneke succeeds Steph Underwood, who has been the acting managing director since May 2024.

“It’s vital we have an experienced leader at the helm of Tourism WA, and we’re really pleased to have appointed Anneke Brown to this managing director position,” said Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti.
