AAT Kings Launches New Range of 24-Max Small Group Tours

by Bruce Parkinson  June 22, 2025
AAT Kings Launches New Range of 24-Max Small Group Tours

AAT Kings says its new small group tours will offer a more personalized experience.

Australia and New Zealand guided holiday specialist AAT Kings has announced the launch of a new range of small group tours limited to groups of up to 24 guests per departure. The new tours are designed to provide a more intimate and personalized experience for travellers.

To celebrate the launch, AAT Kings is offering savings of up to 10% on selected land-only Small Group Tours booked by July 8.

“Our new Small Group Tour offering is designed for those seeking a real connection with each destination they visit, while offering an intimate and immersive tour experience,” says Ben Hall, CEO, AAT Kings Group.

“We have offered premium small group tours for some time via the Inspiring Journeys brand and are excited to launch AAT Kings Small Group tours to complement the existing product,” Hall added.

The Small Group offering will kick off in South Australia from September 2025 with immersive journeys, including the South Australia Outback Adventure, Remarkable Adelaide to Kangaroo Island, and South Australian Eyre Peninsula Escape.

A selection of small group departures will also be available on the 2025/2026 Perfect Tasmania and New Zealand’s Southern Spirit tours. The full suite of Small Group products will then roll out across the AAT Kings’ 2026/2027 season, available to book from July 2025, expanding to incorporate additional destinations including the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

Each Small Group tour will include unique accommodation options, such as Wilpena Pound Resort, nestled within the heart of South Australia’s Flinders Ranges, offering the opportunity to stay in the region’s most iconic landscapes.

AAT Kings is bringing small group departures to New Zealand.

A range of optional activities will also be available on Small Group Tours and can be added to itineraries where requested to make the experience even more personal. For example, guests can opt for a charter flight over Tasmania’s pristine South West Wilderness, or partake in authentic culinary experiences at Dunedin Craft Distiller’s ‘Bread to Bottle Tour.’

Each of these tours will provide access to remote destinations and integrate the ‘MAKE TRAVEL MATTER Experiences, ensuring each trip contributes to sustainability and positively impacts local communities.

For instance, on the Ridgetop Track in South Australia, Arkaroola has established an education and research foundation to promote science, education, and conservation, and AAT Kings donates $10 for every guest who visits. Examples of additional itineraries which will be added to the Small Group Tours product as part of the 2026/27 season include the Tasmania & Flinders Island Explorer, Untamed New Zealand, and an Outback Icons tour.
