Canadian Association of Tour Operators Launches New Recruitment Campaign

The Canadian Association of Tour Operators (CATO) is inviting tour operators across Canada to join “a unified national voice dedicated to advancing a strong, competitive, and sustainable travel industry.”

As the collective representative of Canada’s tour operator community, CATO provides members with advocacy, industry leadership, collaboration opportunities, and practical resources designed to support business growth in an evolving global travel landscape. The membership recruitment campaign aims to add strength to the organization.

CATO Chair of the Board Brett Walker.

“Tour operators play a vital role in Canada’s travel ecosystem,” said Brett Walker, Chair of the CATO Board of Directors. “By expanding our membership, we strengthen our ability to advocate on behalf of the industry, share best practices, and support operators as they navigate regulatory and market challenges.”

Why Join CATO?

CATO membership offers tour operators access to:

  • Industry Advocacy: A strong national voice representing tour operators’ interests with government, regulators, and key stakeholders.
  • Networking & Collaboration: Opportunities to connect with fellow operators, suppliers, and industry partners across Canada.
  • Industry Insights: Updates on market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging opportunities.
  • Professional Credibility: Alignment with a respected national association that promotes high standards and consumer confidence.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Forums, meetings, and resources that support innovation and resilience in tour operations.

Membership is open to tour operators of all sizes, from niche and specialty operators to large, established brands. CATO encourages companies committed to professionalism, collaboration, and the long-term success of Canada’s travel industry to apply.

“Now more than ever, collaboration matters,” added Jean Hébert, Executive Director. “By coming together through CATO, tour operators can amplify their collective impact and help shape the future of travel in Canada.”

It’s also worth noting that under the “Supporting Member” category, DMCs, Tourist Boards, and Suppliers can also become CATO members.
