CATO Appoints Peter Lacy to Board of Directors

Peter Lacy has been appointed to Board of Directors of CATO.

The Canadian Association of Tour Operators (CATO) has announced the appointment of Peter Lacy, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Goway Travel, to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Lacy brings decades of leadership and industry expertise to the organization during a pivotal time for Canadian outbound travel.

As part of Goway’s senior management team, Peter Lacy brings over 35 years of extensive travel industry experience to the role. He has been instrumental in driving strategic growth and operational change across multiple distribution channels, including trade and retail, as well as in both leisure and corporate travel sectors. His leadership has spanned diverse geographic markets, including North America and Australasia, providing him with a broad and valuable perspective on the global travel landscape.

“We are thrilled to welcome Peter Lacy to the CATO Board,” said Brett Walker, Chair of CATO. “His financial acumen, international experience, and deep commitment to the travel industry will greatly strengthen our collective efforts to advocate for Canadian tour operators and elevate our industry’s voice.”

Peter’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as CATO continues its work in promoting responsible travel practices, supporting consumer protection, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the outbound travel sector.

“I’m honoured to join the Board of CATO and contribute to its important mission,” said Lacy. “Throughout my career, I’ve seen the evolution of travel firsthand. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow Board members to support the continued growth and resilience of Canadian tour operators in a rapidly changing global environment.”
