VIDEO: Heather Baker on Envoyage’s “Two Superpowers,” Canadian Travel Trends & What’s Next

by Michael Pihach  November 08, 2026

Envoyage Canada has found its footing — and with a powerful consortium partnership, global reach and renewed focus on helping independent travel advisors succeed, the network is only picking up speed.

At Envoyage’s recent North American Summit in Jamaica, Heather Baker, national marketing manager at Envoyage Canada, sat down with Travel Market Report Canada to talk about the host agency’s evolution, changing Canadian travel habits and what lies ahead.

Held October 20–24 at the Princess Grand resort near Negril, the Summit – which TMR Canada covered exclusively – brought together roughly 160 travel advisors, suppliers and industry representatives for five days of networking, learning and business-building.

The talk of the conference? Envoyage’s new partnership with Travel Leaders Network (TLN), the first consortium alliance in the host agency network’s history.

Described as “two superpowers coming together,” Baker explained how the partnership gives Envoyage advisors access to enhanced supplier relationships, tech and lead-generation tools, creating new opportunities in an increasingly-competitive marketplace.

But the conversation goes well beyond partnerships.

Launched in early 2024, Envoyage replaced the Independent by Flight Centre brand, bringing independent travel businesses together under one global identity.

Today, the network connects approximately 2,500 travel professionals worldwide.

In our interview, Baker reflected on how that transition has unfolded in Canada, how the brand has been received by advisors and suppliers, and why community remains central to its identity.

She also shared insights into where Canadians are travelling — and how their booking habits are changing.

With vacation dollars under greater scrutiny, the value of a trusted travel advisor is becoming increasingly important.

As for what’s next at Envoyage Canada, “The future is limitless,” Baker said.
