Contiki Launches Active Small Group Adventures in Nepal

Contiki has announced the expansion of its Asia portfolio with three new small group adventures in Nepal.

Part of The Travel Corporation, Contiki is a tour operator that has been specializing in trips for young adult travelers since 1962. The company offers a wide range of unique experiences for travelers aged 18 to 35, including various travel themes such as adventure, solo travel, and wildlife trips.

The new Nepal trips feature a maximum of 16 travelers and range from five to 10 days. The itineraries blend Himalayan hiking and trekking, wildlife encounters, and cultural immersion, while pairing bucket-list sights with community-based immersive experiences.

With the expansion, Contiki has also responded to Gen Z demand for hiking-focused trips. More than two-thirds of respondents to Contiki’s 2025 Voice of a Generation survey said hiking was their top choice for active trips, and nearly one-fourth cited Nepal as a top choice for this travel style.

“We’re seeing a real shift in how Gen Z and millennial travelers define a great vacation,” said Tom O’Hara, head of brand at Contiki. “They are telling us they want to be active and explore, connect more authentically with local cultures, and ultimately return home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. These new trips tap into that, blending adventure, local tradition, and meaningful connection to create an experience that stays with you.”

The new itineraries include:

Kathmandu, Chitwan & Hiking: a 10-day itinerary that explores seven cities, and includes trekking and wildlife experiences.

Kathmandu & Chitwan National Park: a six-day itinerary that focuses on the capital city, Kathmandu, and the wildlife experiences at Chitwan National Park.

Hiking the Kathmandu Valley: a five-day itinerary with a focus on active experiences. Experiences include a five-hour trek through Shivapuri National Park and a four-hour climb up to Kali Mandir.
