Intrepid Travel Back at TIFF with Midnight Madness Sponsorship and Box Office Pop-Up

Adventure and responsible travel specialist Intrepid Travel has returned to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) as the presenting sponsor of the festival’s Midnight Madness program for the second consecutive year.

After a successful debut partnership in 2024, Intrepid is once again connecting the worlds of cinema and adventure by bringing back its immersive Intrepid Travel Box Office Pop-Up to David Pecaut Square.

Intrepid says the pop-up, running 10 am to 10 pm daily through September 14, blends the excitement of film with the transformative power of travel, offering festivalgoers interactive experiences, cultural storytelling, and an exclusive giveaway.

“After the success of last year’s debut, returning to TIFF was an easy decision,” said Christian Wolters, President of Canada at Intrepid Travel. “We’re excited to be back in the thick of the action with the Intrepid Travel Box Office op-up. It’s an invitation to festival goers to stop by, explore, and connect.”

Highlights of the Intrepid Travel Box Office include:

  • A chance to win a small group adventure for two to Morocco, Peru, Newfoundland, or Greece, by scanning a movie poster QR code.
  • Free, limited-edition Intrepid x TIFF 50 tote bag, designed by Toronto artist Tabban Solemani (while supplies last).
  • An interactive quiz matching participants with their ideal Intrepid trip style.
  • An immersive ticket booth photo-op.

TIFF’s Midnight Madness program is known for showcasing the best in action, fantasy, shock, and horror cinema — which Intrepid says reflects the same adventurous and bold spirit that defines its travellers.

“TIFF audiences are curious, bold, and engaged, just like our travellers. This partnership is about more than brand visibility; it’s about forging connections with people who want to experience the world differently,” said Wolters.

This year’s slate includes Normal, directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Bob Odenkirk; Dust Bunny, the feature debut of Bryan Fuller; and Takahide Hori’s imaginative stop-motion fantasy Junk World. The program opens with Matt Johnson’s comedy Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie and closes with Grace Glowicki’s macabre horror-comedy Dead Lover.

“Our goal is to meet people where culture is thriving — and Toronto, as one of our largest markets, is the perfect stage to inspire a new generation of Intrepid travellers,” Wolters added.
