Proud Partners: G Adventures and NatGeo Expeditions Sign Deal for 10 More Years

Joining forces in 2015 with a shared vision that would change the way travellers explore the world, G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions are celebrating 10 years of transformative adventures together. And the partners have inked a deal for another decade.

The collaboration, which saw the launch of National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures and National Geographic Family Journeys, has impacted thousands of travellers, supported 25 social enterprise projects and uplifted over 50,000 local people around the world through community tourism initiatives.

Today, the travel providers are announcing 10 more years of innovation and connecting travellers to people and the planet in a meaningful and impactful way through National Geographic Journeys and National Geographic Family Journeys product lines.

G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions have renewed a 10-year partnership.

“This is an exciting time for G Adventures, as we celebrate ten years of incredibly successful collaboration with our friends at National Geographic Expeditions,” says Ben Perlo, chief executive officer at G Adventures.

“What started as a shared vision and an opportunity in the group travel market has grown into a collection of truly life-changing experiences, whose positive ripple effects can be felt by local people, wildlife and destinations all around the world. Demand for these types of experiences is growing; since embarking on this journey with National Geographic Expeditions, we’ve seen exceptional growth every year as travellers look to go deeper into destinations, make real human connections and make more thoughtful and intentional choices about where they spend their travel dollars.”

Nancy Schumacher, SVP and general manager, National Geographic Expeditions, is equally enthusiastic about the extended collaboration.

“National Geographic Expeditions’ core belief is the importance of exploration, and we strive to create unique and authentic expeditions that inspire travellers to care about the world around them. We are incredibly proud of the unforgettable National Geographic Journeys and National Geographic Family Journeys travel experiences we’ve created through our close collaboration with G Adventures over the last decade.”

United through shared values and the belief that travel can be truly transformative, G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions have carefully crafted over 100 itineraries over the past 10 years, each centred around National Geographic’s legacy of science, exploration, education and storytelling. Every journey helps travellers to connect with local communities, experience new cultures and enjoy the work of National Geographic’s scientists and storytellers.

Family tours are an important part of the G Adventures/NatGeo relationship.

With National Geographic’s commitment to conservation, culture and heritage of each place we visit, combined with G Adventures’ leadership in the community tourism sector, the collaboration has created a seismic 10-year impact on communities across the world.

Twenty-five ‘G for Good’ Planeterra projects are now visited on ‘Journeys’ trips and, as a result of this, over 51,881 community lives have been uplifted through community tourism. Additionally, every purchase helps support the non-profit National Geographic Society, which works to protect and illuminate the world through exploration, research and education.

The National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures and National Geographic Family Journeys collections visit 52 countries including South Africa, Japan, Egypt, Greece and Thailand.
