Intrepid Travel is rallying the travel industry with its Buffalo Bike Run, which aims to raise $164,000 in support of women and girls in rural regions through access to life-changing transport – bikes.
Buffalo Bicycles are a special design of bikes that promotes inclusivity with its lower-bar design, but also empowers riders to embrace cycling as a means of transportation and livelihood.
Led by The Intrepid Foundation in support ofWorld Bicycle Relief, The Buffalo Bike Run invites businesses, teams and individuals to ride anywhere in the world, at any time throughout May, raising funds for Buffalo Bicycles to improve access to safe, reliable transportation for women and girls.
Every $240 raised goes towards a purpose-built Buffalo Bicycle providing a simple, immediate solution that can transform access, safety and livelihoods. Women and girls in low-income rural regions continue to face long, unsafe journeys to access education, healthcare and work. Without reliable transport, opportunities remain out of reach.

“The Buffalo Bike Ride is a yearly tradition and reminder of the direct impact our business and people can have on the communities we work with,” said Christian Wolters, President of Canada at Intrepid Travel. “Every kilometre we ride this May represents a real step forward for women and girls who simply need reliable transport to access education, healthcare and opportunity.”
Riders around the world will take part in the Buffalo Ride on May 3, but participation is designed to be flexible. A North American ride is being hosted along the Marin Goodman Trail in Toronto, Canada Thursday (April 30th). Participants can join the Intrepid Canada team and ride to reach their $3,000 goal, or ride independently from anywhere and donate.
