When Sun Princess launched this past spring, it did so without a key element onboard. It’s Park19 “action” deck was pretty much MIA. Now, three months later, Princess Cruises has officially announced it will not be taking delivery of the RollGlider, Coastal Climb, or Ropes Course that were to be the main features of Park19.
“Those experiences will not be opening,” a spokesperson for the line said. “We are actively evaluating these areas for future recreational opportunities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests.”
The cruise line did not give a reason for the decision.
While the ship will no longer have any active options for guests, Princess insisted Park19 “continues to offer a variety of fun and safe recreational options for guests’ enjoyment…”
Among the features currently found in Park19 are the Splash Zone for children with pop jets and water sculpture, a hammock area for relaxation, the multifunction sports courts, and the ship’s jogging track.
Infinite Horizon, which features tilt walls that cantilever over the size of the ship, giving guests the ability to peer out from deck 19 and look down to deck nine and below, is also in Park19.
