Longtime Carnival Cruise Line team member Adolfo Perez is now the cruise line’s new senior vice president of sales and trade marketing, the cruise line announced on Tuesday.

Perez was first hired by Carnival as a weekend check-in agent at PortMiami when he was a high school junior. He has been with Carnival for more than three decades; and had been serving as vice president of sales and marketing since 2015, leading Carnival’s trade team.

Under his leadership, Carnival has catered to travel agents with announcements such as: the second edition of its “Amp Up Commission Program,” which gave agents the chance to earn 15 percent commission on 2018 bookings; its new EasyPay program that allows agents and guests to pay for their sailings in three monthly installments; commission on bookings made with future cruise credits; and a new travel agent commission on wedding packages.

“Adolfo has been critical to driving growth in our travel agent business, both domestically and internationally, and we want to recognize the success of his leadership and the efforts of his team, and the results they have delivered,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy.

“We greatly value our relationship with our travel agent partners, and all of us at Carnival are committed to continuing to work hard to develop innovative and beneficial programs to support them,” she added.

In his new role, Perez will continue his work, heading Carnival’s business development teams and trade marketing in the U.S., Canada, and international markets. He will report to Ken Tate, the line’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer.

“Working with the sales and trade marketing team for the past two and a half years has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I look forward to forging ahead with even more initiatives in the next phase of this role,” said Perez.
