With both of its ships still stuck in the Middle East, Celestyal has been forced to cancel its first Mediterranean sailings of the season. This includes Celestyal Discovery’s March 20 three-night Iconic Aegean and March 23 four-night Iconic Aegean sailings.
While both ships are fully operational and ready to sail, only Celestyal Discovery has been able to disembark all guests from the previous sailing. It remains portside in Dubai. Celestyal Journey has begun disembarking guests from its last canceled sailing and expects to disembark the remainder over the next 24 hours. It remains docked in Doha, Qatar.
The ships departures from the region “will take place in line with guidance from relevant authorities,” the line said in a statement.
The Strait of Hormuz, which the ships need to cross in order to sail on to Europe, remains functionally closed due to the conflict in the region.
All guests booked on the affected departures will be offered the option of a full refund or a future cruise credit.
“We continue to follow developments closely and remain focused on resuming our planned programme as soon as possible. We sincerely thank our guests and valued partners for their patience and understanding,” the line said.
Celestyal Discovery’s next scheduled Mediterranean sailing is a three-day Iconic Greek Islands on March 27. Celestyal Journey’s first Mediterranean sailing is scheduled for April 4, 2026.
