Norwegian Cruise Line has appointed Derek Lloyd as vice president of strategic and national accounts. He succeeds Brennan Quesnele, following his appointment as senior vice president of sales at Oceania Cruises.

In his new role, Lloyd will be responsible for driving national account sales with various travel partners and accounts in the U.S. and Canada. He brings more than 30 years of experience to the role, having most recently served as vice president of Field Sales for North America at NCL. In his numerous roles, Lloyd has been involved in sales and business development functions in the U.S. and Canada, including contract negotiations, tour operator and consortia account management, and customer relationship development.

“I am very excited for Derek to take on this new role as vice president of strategic and national accounts,” said John Chernesky, senior vice president of North America Sales at Norwegian Cruise Line. “Brennan has done an incredible job at facilitating the growth of this division, and I couldn’t think of anyone else who can step into his role than our very own, Derek Lloyd. Derek has been instrumental in strengthening our engagement with thousands of partners across North America, and I am confident with his experience and passion that he will continue to lead the sales team to new heights.”

Lloyd will oversee the strategic and national accounts across the U.S. and Canada by continuing to foster new and existing partner relationships, as well as develop strategies to achieve sales growth. NCL will appoint a new vice president of field sales to replace Lloyd’s role soon.

“I look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with our travel partners as well as our commitment to being the easiest cruise line to do business with,” Lloyd said.

“I’m really excited about taking on a new challenge,” he added. “I think it’s great that a homegrown Canadian who has always worked with agencies in Canada is moving to a broader North American role and I look forward to working with national and strategic accounts across the U.S. and Canada.”

Lloyd will oversee a team of sales leaders who serve as support for consortia partners and agencies across the U.S. and Canada aimed at executing NCL’s sales strategies and reinforcing relationships across strategic and national accounts.
