Citing the safety of their guests and crew, all three Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. brands made changes to upcoming North Sea or Baltic region cruises to eliminate St. Petersburg from the itineraries.

Royal Caribbean is canceling visits to the Russian port city on all summer 2022 sailings. Alternative ports are being planned and will be communicated to affected guests and travel advisors. Cruisers who wish to reschedule their cruises may do so under the line’s Cruise with Confidence program.

Celebrity has canceled all calls to St. Petersburg and replaced them with Scandinavian ports of call, essentially creating a new “Best of Scandinavia” itinerary, a spokesperson said. Booked guests may reschedule their cruise for a later date under the line’s Cruise with Confidence program.

Silversea has also rerouted cruises scheduled to call in Russia and Ukraine for summer 2022. The line is in the process of informing booked guests and travel advisors of the updated itineraries.

The news continues a string of changes made by travel companies in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Those changes include a slate of cruise lines, including Windstar and more, along with tour companies, Sabre, and more. Travel advisors speaking last week said that they expect those cancellations to continue.
