Silversea’s Silver Spirit was cut in half during a ceremony in Palmero last weekend, the start of a project that will see the ship lengthened and its capacity increased.
The project is the first of its kind and will leave the ship with a new capacity of 608 guest, up from 608. Additional crew members will also keep the ship at the same crew-to-guest ratio.
Two new restaurants will be added with the new midsection, leaving the ship with eight total restaurants—Altantide, Indochine, Spaccanapoli, Silver Note, Seishin, La Dame, The Grill, and La Terraza.
Other additions include Arts Cade and Dolce Vita, two public spaces, as well as 35 new suites, a new spa, and a fitness center.
The redesigned ship will debut in May.
