Israel Ministry of Tourism Names Taimour Mansour as Director for Canada

Israel Ministry of Tourism Names Taimour Mansour as Director for Canada

Taimur Mansour has been named Director
for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism.

The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) has appointed Taimur Mansour to the role of Consul, Director of Tourism for Canada, based in Toronto, effective August 2026.

A member of the Druze community, Mansour is described as passionate about representing his heritage and sharing Israel’s diverse mosaic of people, religions and cultures with the world.

In this position, he will direct the Ministry of Tourism’s initiatives to expand travel from Canada to Israel. His mandate includes building strategic collaborations with the local travel industry, tour operators, media, and airlines, as well as managing roadshows, targeted marketing campaigns, and content projects designed to connect Canadians with the authentic Israeli experience.

“Taimur brings a combination of deep cultural knowledge, global campaign experience and genuine personal connection to Israel’s story, and that combination will resonate strongly with the Canadian market,” says Yoram Elgrabil, IMOT’s tourism commissioner for North America.

“Canada represents one of our most promising markets. Canadian travellers are among the world’s most curious and adventurous, often seeking meaningful connections and authentic cultural experiences. Canada is also home to the 4th largest Jewish community in the world. We are confident Taimur’s leadership will deepen our partnerships across Canada’s travel industry and create new opportunities for Canadians to experience Israel’s history, culture and people.”

Prior to his upcoming appointment in Toronto, Mansour served as the Director of Media and Campaigns Department at the Ministry of Tourism in Jerusalem. Working alongside the Ministry’s marketing leadership, he directed a global network of 19 public relations (PR) managers.

His comprehensive understanding of tourism is rooted in his foundational experience as a professional tour guide. By leading groups across Israel, he cultivated a deep appreciation for the country’s physical landscapes and historical narratives, a hands-on perspective that continues to inform his professional approach today.

Fluent in Arabic, Hebrew and English, and conversant in Chinese, Mansour holds a Master of Arts in Asian Studies from the University of Haifa and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Tel Aviv University.
