Marriott and Starwood Break Ground on Dual-Branded Hotel
A dual-branded hotel by Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts kicked off construction Tuesday, just one day after Marriott announced it will acquire Starwood for $12.2 billion. The 18-story building, located in the heart of downtown Denver, will be both an AC Hotel by Marriott and a Le Meridien Hotel, a Starwood brand.
Each hotel will have its own entrance, lobby, and food and beverage outlets, and a combined 295 rooms. Le Meridien will also have a full-service restaurant, a 5,000-square-foot ballroom, business and meeting space, and a 24-hour fitness center.
The property is slated to open late summer of 2017, and will be managed by White Lodging Services Corporation.
