Tamarind, Barbados, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, has just reopened after extensive renovations, completing the multi-million-dollar refresh and rebrand of seven resorts that have joined Marriott’s Barbados Collection portfolio this year.
The property has long been recognized as a beloved family-friendly resort on the oceanfront of the island’s Platinum West Coast. It now boasts a significant redesign of its guest rooms and suites, culinary offerings, public areas, and programming.
“The reopening of Tamarind is an incredibly meaningful moment for Marriott International, our team, and for the future of hospitality in Barbados,” said Gastón Gonzalez, Regional Vice President, Marriott International, Caribbean & Mexico. “Over the past several years, we have undertaken an ambitious vision to completely reimagine our portfolio across the island. Tamarind’s reopening and adherence to the Autograph Collection brand represents the culmination of that journey and reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class, all-inclusive experiences under Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of distinctive brands.”
Tamarind has 111 spacious guestrooms and suites, as well as several new restaurants, including Caribbean Restaurant, Barbados’ first air-conditioned restaurant serving authentic Barbados cuisine, as well as a coffee shop, seaside restaurant, international dining, and more.
In keeping with the Autograph Collection brand’s signature “Exactly Like Nothing Else” motto, the resort offers destination-specific programming. These immersive cultural activities include storytelling rum tastings, Soca dance lessons, and pop-up cooking classes featuring traditional Bajan fish cakes.
Marriott also offers the Dine Around Program, which allows guests to eat at sister properties’ restaurants within the Barbados Collection. Tamarind is one of seven resorts, which also include Waves Resort & Spa, Treasure Beach, and The House in the Autograph Collection; Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach in the Tribute Portfolio; and Colony Club in the Luxury Collection.
