People & Places: NatGeo Expeditions and G Adventures Unveil 30 New Itineraries

People & Places: NatGeo Expeditions and G Adventures Unveil 30 New Itineraries

Tram on line 28 in lisbon, portugal

The successful collaboration between G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions continues to expand with 30 new itineraries, bringing destinations to life through people, stories and communities.

There are 24 new National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures and six newly updated National Geographic Family Journeys with G Adventures.

The partners say these trips focus on the most meaningful take-aways from travel — the purposeful connections made with the people who live in, work in and help protect the destination. Rather than simply seeing a destination, travellers are invited to understand it through the people who live there, work there, preserve its traditions and help shape its future.

The launch includes the introduction of six updated trips to the National Geographic Family Journeys with G Adventures collection, which are led by two dedicated Expedition Leaders: one keeps kids engaged, entertained, and learning through play, while the other manages logistics and discovery.

New to each itinerary are Junior Explorers Night where kids get their own evening (separate from but close to parents) to connect with other kids, take part in guided activities and enjoy a Made Together Moment, where families collaborate on a craft such as jewelry making or ceramics. With small groups of up to 22, the trips are designed specifically to help curious families discover the world together through shared learning and meaningful connections with local people.

New trips include:

Journeys: Wildlife of the Galapagos Islands

On this eight-day journey travellers meet with locals who will bring the journey to life. From the conservationists working to protect the Galápagos’ wildlife and environment to the artisan chocolatiers of Quito’s colonial quarter, travellers will experience this fascinating archipelago alongside those who protect and celebrate it.

Journeys: Best of Northern Thailand
This eight-day trip presents northern Thailand through the eyes of those that know it best. A Khantoke dinner shared with a local family in their home, sitting with monks at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep after evening chanting, and local instructors at a traditional cooking class are among the activities and people that turn the destination into more than just a trip.

Journeys: Iconic Christmas Markets

Central Europe is famous for its holiday magic for good reason, but this eight-day trip uncovers a side of the destination only accessed through the eyes of those that live there. Travellers will cook alongside a local chef in a Prague kitchen, then sit down for schnitzel among locals in a warm, welcoming restaurant. In Budapest, the group will share a meal at a community café dedicated to social inclusion for people with disabilities, then ride a vintage tram together through the glow of Christmas lights.

Journeys: Highlights of the Loire Valley & Bordeaux

This eight-day journey through France’s most renowned wine regions celebrates more than just grapes, thanks to the people that travellers will meet along the way. Along the way, travellers will meet with winemakers themselves and taste vintage wines shaped by their family’s generations of experience.

Peru Family Journey: The Amazon & Machu Picchu

Designed to bring families closer to Peru’s people, wildlife and history, this nine-day adventure combines hands-on learning with iconic experiences. Naturalist guides lead nighttime wildlife walks and caiman-spotting cruises in the Amazon, while members of the Cuyo Chico community teach children and parents the art of ceramic painting. Knowledgeable guides share Incan legends around the campfire and reveal the mysteries of Machu Picchu.

Southeast Asia Family Journey: Halong Bay and Angkor Wat

On this 12-day family adventure through Southeast Asia, local hosts and communities take centre stage. Families learn the skills behind Cambodia’s Phare Circus from its performers, make noodles with STREETS International instructors in Hanoi and discover traditional farming and Vietnamese cooking with a host family in Tra Que Village. On a Halong Bay cruise, parents and kids make authentic Vietnamese spring rolls together.
