Canadian low-cost airline Swoop has officially launched its inaugural service to Nashville from Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The service, which kicked off on Thursday, is one of two Nashville non-stops that Swoop plans to have on offer by the start of summer—the carrier will also add non-stop service from Edmonton starting on June 19.

“As Canada’s leading ultra-low fare airline, we are thrilled to continue our summer expansion south of the border with our new service from Toronto to Nashville,” said Bert van der Stege, Head of Commercial and Finance, Swoop.

“After two years of volatility, today’s inaugural flight marks a critical milestone in our recovery, with travel restrictions lifting and demand for transborder travel reaching unprecedented heights.”

Both routes are part of a big expansion to the U.S. from Swoop, which, including the Nashville service, is adding five new nonstop routes to five new U.S. cities—New York, Chicago, Nashville, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Those five join already-established Swoop service to San Diego, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, St. Pete-Clearwater, Orlando Sanford, and Phoenix, all of which will be extended into the summer season, giving Swoop a total of 11 U.S. destinations this summer. Swoop will fly that service out of its three main hubs—Toronto, Hamilton, and Edmonton.

The carrier also continues its expansion in Canada, including new Edmonton to Halifax service.

Swoop is celebrating the new Toronto to Nashville service with fares starting at $99 CAD.
