Rimrock Banff Appoints Director of Sales & Marketing Ahead of Summer Opening

Rimrock Banff has appointed David Marques as its director of sales and marketing ahead of its anticipated summer opening.
Marques will lead the new hotel’s strategic introduction as a high-end property in the Canadian Rockies within Banff National Park. Marques has previous luxury hospitality sales experience, most recently as director of sales and marketing at Accor’s Mercure London Earls Court. He is most skilled in driving group and incentive business.
“To open a property like Rimrock Banff in a destination as extraordinary as Banff National Park is a rare opportunity,” Marques said. “My goal is to create experiences where groups can connect with each other, and with nature, in ways that feel inspiring, transformative, and deeply rooted in the beauty of Banff.”
Rimrock Banff will feature 320 guest rooms and suites and event spaces accommodating up to 600 guests. The property will open in the summer following a $115 million transformation and join Accor’s Emblems Collection in the fall. This will make it sister properties with Fairmont Banff Springs, and the two will offer some shared experiences.
