Another Margaritaville Resort is coming to the U.S., this one to Northern Kentucky.

According to a notice from Newport, Kentucky’s Board of Commissioners, a new Margaritaville Resort Project has officially gotten the go-ahead from Newport City Commissioners on Monday. Plans now call for the resort, which includes 264 hotel rooms, three restaurants, and a rooftop pool, to be built and opened to guests in 2026.

The resort will be built in Newport on the Levee, a commercial complex right on the Ohio River, which separates Kentucky from Ohio. The complex is across the river from Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park and right at the foot of the Purple People Bridge, which connects Cincinnati to Newport.

According to local media, including Fox 19, the resort has long been planned for Newport on the Levee, with talks going back to 2008. The resort had been delayed initially by the financial crisis but finally gets the go-ahead from the city this week.

The resort will add to Margaritaville’s growing resort portfolio. Most recently, the brand opened a new resort in Ambergris Caye, Belize Last year it also launched Margaritaville at Sea, its new cruise ship product.
