Janu, the brand-new sister brand to Aman, is set to open its first hotel this autumn in Japan. The brand, which will offer an elevated guest experience akin to Aman will provide a spirited social scene in contrast to Aman’s “whisper-quiet seclusion.”

“The development and creation of Janu has been born from Aman Group’s long-term strategic vision, responding to the demand from our wider cohort of guest and the luxury traveler for the hallmarks of the Aman offering in terms of service and excellent design, but with a different pace and spirit,” said Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman and Janu.

“There is a great appetite in the market for experiences and destinations which encourage connection, adventure and memorable interactions. Janu has been designed to cater to this increasing demand, seeking pioneering destinations which have an energy and vibrancy reflecting the values of the brand for our first outpost.”

The Janu Tokyo will be located in the city’s all-new Azabudai Hills community, which opens later this year, and will feature 122 rooms and suites, six dining options and one of the largest wellness facilities in the city. Rooms will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, with the majority having private balconies with views of the iconic Tokyo Tower or surrounding greenery. Ranging from 592-square-feet deluxe rooms to the 3,000-square-foot Janu Suite, there will be an abundance of connecting rooms.

Dining on the property will comprise six choices, plus a bar, lounge and garden terrace. Choices will include an Italian food emporium, grill restaurant with open kitchen, two Japanese restaurants, a Chinese restaurant, and a patisserie.

The Janu Wellness Centre will span 43,000 square feet, making it one of the largest wellness facilities of any luxury hotel in Tokyo. Group classes will include spinning, boxing, yoga, Pilates and even simulated golf training. Other highlights include a large gym with circuit training equipment, seven treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy and thermal area, and 82-foot-long heated lap pool. There will also be a separate Lounge Pool, traditionally a place for socializing in Japan, as well as two Spa Houses.
