CDC Adds Two Caribbean Islands to Zika Travel Alert
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has added Aruba and Bonaire to the Zika travel alert.
Health officials recommend that pregnant women postpone travel to affected areas because of a suspected link between the Zika virus, which is transmitted by mosquitoes, and birth defects in babies they are carrying when infected.
The list of affected destinations now includes about 30 destinations, mostly in the Caribbean and Latin America, but also including parts of Florida.
