Located approximately 90 minutes from the Quebec City Airport, and overlooking the picturesque blue waters of the St. Lawrence River, Club Med Quebec Charlevoix is a four-season mountain retreat unlike any other offered in the U.S. or Canada.
The resort is a true hidden gem for the American traveler; since opening in 2021, the Canadian resort has primarily drawn domestic guests looking for a quiet escape in the mountains. And yet, the value proposition for the U.S. traveler is compelling: a European-style resort vacation, without the transatlantic flight and with the benefit of a favorable USD to CAD conversion rate. From its skiing offerings to its delicious regionally inspired cuisine, Club Med Quebec Charlevoix has plenty to attract travelers from around the globe who are drawn to active, nature-based activities.
With adventure tourism on the rise, and an increasing number of travelers looking to stay active while on vacation, Club Med Quebec Charlevoix is well positioned as an alternative to the typical sun-and-sand all-inclusive vacation. Travelers can still enjoy a cocktail and lounge by the water (an indoor pool, in this case), but there is a much stronger emphasis on outdoor adventure at this mountain retreat, regardless of the time of year. Guests can choose from yoga classes, circus lessons, and even guided hikes, without paying an additional fee.
Club Med Quebec Charlevoix recently invited Travel Market Report to experience the property’s summer offerings and see firsthand how the legacy brand is reinventing itself in its 75th year, as well as the opportunity the resort presents for U.S. travelers and travel advisors.
Club Med Quebec Charlevoix: How the Brand Is Evolving

Club Med is arguably the most well-known name in the world of all-inclusive resorts. The club was founded in the 1950s by former Olympian Gérard Blitz, and its early concept centered on an inclusive, communal vacation for sports enthusiasts. Club Méditerranée, later rebranded as Club Med, would go on to pioneer the all-inclusive vacation experience, introducing aspects like buffet dining and a childcare program, Mini Club.
Even after 75 years, Club Med has maintained the core elements of its brand: a community-feel, a family-friendly environment, and plenty of amenities to keep active travelers busy. Yet, the resort brand is evolving. Club Med Quebec Charlevoix was the first property of its kind to open in Canada, and will be followed by a new Club Med in Tremblant, Quebec, set to open in 2028. For U.S. travelers, the bigger news is the upcoming Club Med St. Croix, scheduled to open next year. Locating in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the property represents the brand’s return to American soil.

The Club Med experience is changing on a resort-by-resort basis as well, and for the better. At the Quebec Club Med, the year-round programming is being expanded to enhance the guest experience outside of ski season. The resort introduced a new Summer Reimagined program in 2025, which it brought back by popular demand in 2026 and will likely do so again next year. Guests visiting in the summer will access the same yoga classes and mountain-biking trails as before, but will also have non-sports activities to enjoy, such as creative workshops and special film screenings.

As part of the Summer Reimagined programming, the resort features artists in residence who host the workshops. During our stay, French painter Cerise Granal led a class on watercolor painting, which was a welcome break from the more physical activities on offer.
The summer programming also includes special film screenings in a Hubblo Dome. This is a portable, inflatable 360-degree immersive projection theater that was created in Quebec. Guests are invited to lay on bean bag loungers and watch short films. There are kid-friendly titles on offer, as well as more adult-oriented options. We screened an educational film on the Northern Lights, titled Aurorae.
Club Med Quebec Charlevoix: Accommodations, Amenities, & More

Club Med Quebec Charlevoix features over 300 rooms with three tiers: superior, which is the standard category, deluxe, and the Exclusive Collection Space Suite. TMR stayed in a Deluxe Family Room, which had views of the St Lawrence river and included two bedrooms: a main bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a desk, and balcony access, as well as a second bedroom with two twin beds.

The resort is categorized as a “4-Trident” property, and the rooms reflect that. Guests can choose from the superior rooms, with options for family suites or interconnecting rooms and categorized based on views, the deluxe rooms, which are larger, and the Exclusive Collection rooms, which are the largest and the most elevated.

Guests who book the Exclusive Collection have access to a “5-Trident” experience, which includes perks like concierge service, a daily evening Champagne service, and private transportation for suite guests. A major selling point is the exclusive lounge (pictured above), which features lush furnishings, its own hot tub, and a coffee and beverage station with snacks. It’s a quiet, comfortable area where guests can escape the hustle and bustle of the main resort common areas.

Club Med Quebec Charlevoix also includes spa access. The Nordic-inspired Spa by Sothys features treatment rooms, an outdoor hot tub, and a relaxation lounge (pictured above). Treatments such as massage do carry an additional fee, but are well worth it after a long day of trekking in the mountains.
Other indoor amenities include a large locker room for outdoor equipment, an indoor pool, and a children’s space known as Mini Club. In the main theater area, the resort holds circus lessons, which are always a big hit for the children. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy year-round as well: in addition to the resort’s outdoor fire pits and basketball courts, there are facilities on the mountain itself (pictured below), which guests can access with the gondola (they will receive a complimentary ticket, but that must be presented to board).

At the top of Le Massif de Charlevoix, guests will find a seasonal cafeteria and pub (not open in the summer), as well as washrooms, a boutique, and a food stop terrrace (open weekends during the summer season). There are also plenty of hiking and mountain-bike trails to enjoy.
In terms of all-inclusive food and drink, the main property includes a buffet, Le Marché, as well as a premium dining experience at Le Chalet, which costs an upcharge. The included fare is generally quite good — given the location, the quality is higher than one would expect to find in a Caribbean all-inclusive. Guests can look forward to an assortment of Canadian fare, from kid-friendly burgers and fries to more elevated options like carved prime rib or ham.

The main bar is Bar Le Météore, which is located in the large common area where evening entertainment is held, as well as a lounge in Le Chalet, a wine bar called La Cave, and an Exclusive Collection bar restricted for guests who have booked in that category, the Le Saint-Laurent Exclusive Collection Lounge Bar.
Who Is Club Med Quebec Charlevoix For?

Currently, Club Med Quebec Charlevoix mainly attracts guests from Canada, although its top three inbound markets also include the U.S. and, surprisingly, Brazil.
According to Nicolas Cutter, chief of village at Club Med Quebec Charlevoix, the common denominator among visitors is a love of outdoor activity and a desire for a comfortable, all-inclusive resort experience.
“[Club Med Quebec Charlevoix] is best suited for experience-driven travelers who enjoy outdoor adventure, cultural discovery, and meaningful time together, while valuing the comfort and the peace of mind an all-inclusive escape provides,” Cutter told TMR. “The resort appeals to active families, multigenerational groups, couples, and adults. In winter, guests can shape their stay around skiing and snowboarding (at all levels) or experience the mountains beyond the slopes through snowshoeing, yoga, spa experiences and regional excursions. During the warmer months, travelers seek hiking, mountain biking, whale watching, wellness, creativity, family connection, and time outdoors.”

When asked about the opportunity for U.S. travel advisors, Cutter stressed that “Club Med Quebec Charlevoix is much more than a traditional ski hotel,” pointing to the versatile programming and the opportunity for guests to connect with the nearby UNESCO-designated Charlevoix Biosphere Region.
Cat Arce, a U.S.-based BDM, told TMR that she believes the value of Club Med Quebec Charlevoix is that it’s an easy international getaway for U.S. travelers looking for nature, outdoor adventures, and a unique four-season destination.
“Club Med has always been about more than just accommodations and dining. Yes of course, our food is amazing with its fresh ingredients and French roots but, we create vacations centered around experiences,” explained Arce. “I encourage advisors to think beyond the traditional ski trip or Mountain vacation. Quebec Charlevoix is truly a year-round destination. …Rather than selling it as just a place to stay, present it as an experience. Club Med is an experience no matter which location you are at.”
