Located near Puerto Morelos and in a privileged beachfront setting, Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun operates as a five-star, all-inclusive resort
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, a new five-star, all-inclusive property located just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport and near the charming fishing village of Puerto Morelos. The resort officially joined Iberostar’s portfolio on November 1, reinforcing the brand’s strong commitment to Mexico, where it now operates 12 properties.
The 444-suite resort offers spacious accommodations, each featuring a jacuzzi, with options ranging from family rooms and swim-up suites with semi-private pool access to oceanfront suites boasting stunning views of the Caribbean.

“We are pleased to strengthen Iberostar’s presence in Mexico, a key destination in our international growth strategy,” said Phil Mc Aveety, CEO of Iberostar Hotels & Resort.
“This new project reflects our commitment to excellence and to creating unique experiences for every guest. It also reaffirms our dedication to developing local talent, promoting a model of responsible tourism that generates long-lasting value for communities, destinations and the industry.”
Operating under the Iberostar Selection category, the resort is designed for both couples and families—combining superior service with a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to its privileged beachfront location on the Caribbean Sea, the resort is the perfect starting point for exploring the area’s natural attractions, such as the Great Mayan Reef and the Route of the Cenotes.
Culinary variety takes centre stage at Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, with a mix of international and Caribbean-inspired dining. Guests can enjoy an international buffet, a wood-fired pizzeria, and four specialty restaurants:
- L’Oliveto – authentic Italian cuisine
- Nopal – signature Mexican dishes
- Caribbean Restaurant – fresh seafood and local recipes
- Martinete – Spanish culinary favourites
The dining experience is complemented by six bars, including three swim-up options, and a Star Café, offering guests a range of spaces to relax and enjoy throughout their stay.
With the addition of Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, the company reaches 4,400 rooms in the country and employs more than 5,800 professionals. It is estimated that the new resort will generate around 650 jobs, contributing positively to the region’s economic development.
