Four Seasons has renovated the historic Hotel Formentor and reopened it as Four Seasons Mallorca at Formentor.

Set on 100 acres of a private estate that boasts seaside woodlands, cliffs, and secluded beaches, the newly restored property offers a serene, relaxed getaway among nature, as well as an array of exciting activities for guests.

“With our legacy of reviving legendary hotels with a respectful approach to modernization, we are very pleased to add Hotel Formentor to our portfolio of historic European properties that have been restored and enhanced as a new Four Seasons experience,” said Rainer Stampfer, Four Seasons’ president of global operations. “As we welcome a new generation of holiday makers who love the sun, sand and sea, all of it wrapped in the heartfelt care for which Four Seasons is renowned, the story of this beloved destination is continuing.”

A new-and-improved stay

Four Seasons Mallorca at Formentor offers 110 guest rooms and suites, all with sea facing terraces and some with plunge pools. With the redesign, the interior is now light and airy with natural materials and colors.

The grand resort features restored gardens, walking paths, and quiet outdoor spaces, which can be used for solitary reflection or to book events. The hotel hosts guided meditation and forest bathing, as well as art classes where guests can paint the luscious landscape.

Guests can make use of the resort’s fitness studio, spa, and concierge, which helps provide the full Mallorca experience. There is also a Kids for All Seasons club that is fully supervised. A teens club and ballroom are coming soon. The spa is currently a pop-up but will offer all treatments in 2025.

Dining options at the resort, overseen by Executive Chef Francesco Mannelli, include Mel, a fresh Mediterranean breakfast and dinner restaurant; Quiosc, an outdoor kitchen and terrace in a shady spot by one of the pools, and Xiringuito, serving drinks and small bites on the beach. An additional restaurant and a sweet shop are also set to open next year.

Experiences for everyone

A large vineyard neighbors Four Seasons Mallorca at Formentor. The hotel’s concierge team, led by Chief Concierge Bruno Fernandes, has curated interactive winemaking experiences – and so much more, from hiking to sightseeing to snorkeling.

“Late summer is a wonderful time in Formentor as we invite guests to join us in the annual vineyard harvest, and then hopefully return next year to enjoy the wine they helped make,” said General Manager Estreya Gosalbez.

Exploring Mallorca doesn’t end there, though. Tour and activity packages at the new Four Seasons include Tracing Formentor’s Legacy, A Journey Through History, Romance and Inspiration; Enchanting Tramuntana mountain tour; the Sa Balsa olive grove tour; and the Ancient Finca Discovery agricultural tour.

There are also many other excursions to choose from, including sailing to secluded beaches, island hopping to Menorca, hiking, biking, snorkeling, and watersports.
