Meliá Hotels & Resorts has expanded into the Maldives with the opening of Meliá Whale Lagoon Maldives.
The high-end all-inclusive resort is a 30-minute sea plane ride from Malé International Airport and is a gateway to the South Ari Marine Protected Area (SAMPA), known for year-round whale shark and manta ray sightings, as well as water sports and activities.
“The Maldives represent the essence of our purpose: to grow in the world’s most exclusive destinations and create unique moments in incomparable settings, delivered with the hospitality that defines Meliá,” said Gabriel Escarrer, chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International.
Meliá Whale Lagoon Maldives features 100 private oceanfront villas – notably the Water Villas, Sunset Suite Villas with private pool, and Beach Villas. It also offers four restaurants and bars, a spa, and two infinity pools.
Guests have access to entertainment and programming for all ages, including live music, open-air cinema under the stars, cooking classes, and activities for children and teens.
