The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa will undergo a $50 million renovation that will see it receive five new dining concepts, a dedicated adults-only pool, and reimagined spaces. The resort will temporarily close on Nov. 2, 2026, with reopening anticipated in mid-April 2027.
Building on the property’s recent guestroom updates, the renovation will introduce a new lobby experience with an expansive oceanfront indoor-outdoor flow greeting guests upon arrival.
“This investment represents an important next step for The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa,” said Markus Krebs, general manager of The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa. “Our vision is to build upon what guests have long loved about this resort while thoughtfully reimagining the experience for its next chapter.”
“We are making a meaningful investment across the property, from the public spaces to dining and wellness, with a focus on creating an elevated experience that remains distinctly connected to Hilton Head Island. We see tremendous opportunity in the resort and look forward to creating a destination that both longtime guests and a new generation of travelers will be excited to experience,” he added.

Reimagined Culinary Experience
The resort’s food and beverage outlets will be reimagined as part of the renovation, with five new concepts and experiences planned for the 2027 reopening. Guests will be able to enjoy light bites, shared plates, and cocktails at the brand-new Cordelia’s, in the lobby while overlooking the ocean; grab a coffee or tea at Breakwater Provisions; linger at Saltwater Social for low-country cuisine; or enjoy fine cuisine at Port House. Dining at the resort pools will also be reimagined at Shoreline, available for both counter service and poolside.
Expanded Spa and Wellness
Wellness will remain a key part of the resort experience following the renovation. The resort’s full-service Heavenly Spa by Westin will form an expanded wellness campus, bringing together spa treatments, fitness, recovery, and opportunities for reflection.
Enhanced wellness offerings will include a thermal circuit experience featuring an expanded infrared sauna and new cold-plunge shower systems designed to complement steam showers. A new Tranquility Garden will offer an outdoor sanctuary with regular wellness classes and a peaceful setting for guests to enjoy at their own pace.
The property will also add new treatment rooms, and 11 total and signature services, including new treatments inspired by the Lowcountry region.
To accommodate more workout needs, fitness center upgrades include the addition of state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, Peloton bikes, a Frame Pilates Reformer, Rogue Assault Bike, and Ski Erg.

New Pool and Beach Experiences
The renovation will also introduce Stillwater, a new adults-only pool and poolside retreat. Complementing the resort’s existing pool experiences, the addition will allow the property to better cater to couples and a broader range of guests, alongside families and multigenerational travelers.
The resort’s main Shoreline pool and smaller Tide Pool will continue to offer inviting spaces for guests of all ages.
Reimagined Meetings and Celebrations
The resort’s approximately 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space will also be updated, with new boardrooms, meeting spaces, and enhancements to the Grand Event Lawn.
The renovated spaces will accommodate corporate and association groups, meetings, retreats, destination weddings, and social events, with the resort’s oceanfront setting continuing to serve as a central part of its group and event experience.
Located along the Atlantic Ocean, The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa features 420 total guest rooms, including 32 suites, approximately 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, multiple dining venues, and a full-service Heavenly Spa by Westin.
