With outdoor tourism having a big moment, it’s no wonder that two leading hotel brands – Waldorf Astoria and Six Senses – have their sights set on Utah.
Both brands just announced that they are developing new resorts in the state. Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley Resort and Residences will be a ski-in, ski-out resort just outside Park City, while Six Senses Camp Korongo will be a desert resort near the state’s southern canyons.
Here’s an early look at the planned Utah resorts from Waldorf Astoria and Six Senses, set to open in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley Resort and Residences

Set within the up-and-coming Deer Valley East Village, Waldorf Astoria’s second Park City area proprety will feature 132 guest rooms and 105 one-to six-bedroom branded residences. It will offer ski-in, ski-out access and unobstructed views of Bald Mountain, Hail Peak, and Park Peak, located just beside a brand-new ski run, the Green Monster.
“Mountain destinations have always held a special emotional power, and Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley allows us to interpret that through the lens of one of the world’s most iconic luxury brands,” said Dino Michael, senior vice president and global category head of Hilton Luxury Brands. “This is a place designed around arrival, belonging, and connection to the landscape, where ski-in, ski-out access is paired with deeply considered design and service. It is a luxury that feels natural, immersive, and enduring.”
The resort will also feature a 15,000-square-foot spa, fitness centers, a golf simulator, kids room, pools, events and meeting spaces including a ballroom, and several bars and restaurants.
Construction on Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley began in May 2025. The property is located 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport and will join Hilton’s new Canopy by Hilton at Deer Valley, which is opening this summer.
Six Senses Camp Korongo

Forty-one luxury tented pavilions and 12 branded residences will comprise Six Senses Camp Korongo, a 480-acre property near Kanab. Set against a backgroup of sculpted rock and desert skies, the resort will offer hiking trails, canyoneering, and stargazing, all within close proximity to Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Arches National Parks.
“Six Senses Camp Korongo will blend the brand’s distinctive values and touchpoints in a unique location while also underscoring our growth plan for the brand in the Americas,” said Jolyon Bulley, CEO of the Americas for IHG Hotels & Resorts. “As outdoor exploration, natural connection and wellness continue to inspire luxury travelers, we’re delighted to bring this desert adventure to life.”
IHG is opening the resort in partnership with owners Canyon Global Partners for experiential luxury-lifestyle stays that deliver on sense of place, wellbeing, and discovery, the brand said.
The resort will be among Six Senses’ first properties in the United States; the brand is also expected to open Six Senses RiverStone Estate in Pennsylvania and Six Senses Telluride in Colorado in the coming years.
