WorldHotels, part of BWH Hotels, has just launched a new brand, WorldHotels Backdrop, a collection of upscale glamping retreats and other outdoor accommodations.
The new outdoorsy portfolio includes resorts with canvas-tented rooms and cabins set in scenic atmospheres: along coastlines and rivers, amid mountains, and near national parks.
The first properties to enter the collection are Zion Wildflower Resort in Virgin, Utah; Asheville River Cabins in Arden, North Carolina; and The Lodge at Pico Bonito in La Ceiba, Honduras. Expansion is actively in the works, and the brand is also looking to add properties on the beaches of Phan Thiet, Vietnam, and in safari destinations in Africa and Australia.
“Today’s traveler is seeking more than a getaway; they’re looking for connection and purpose. It’s about meaningful moments in local neighborhoods and journeys designed to inspire a deeper connection,” said WorldHotels President Ron Pohl. “WorldHotels Backdrop brings to life our vision of allowing guests to fully experience remarkable outdoor environments while still enjoying the elevated hospitality that sets WorldHotels apart.”
The announcement comes at a time when outdoor hospitality is growing in popularity not only for vacationers but for groups planning events, such as weddings and corporate retreats, according to WorldHotels, noting that the glamping sites offer “on-site kitchens, dedicated presentation areas and natural surroundings that foster both productivity and meaningful connection.”
