Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Arrives in Cambodia with New Upscale Property

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Arrives in Cambodia with Opening of Sihanoukville’s First International Five-Star Hotel – Howard Johnson Plaza by Wyndham Blue Bay Sihanoukville opens along Independence Beach with views of the glittering gulf as Wyndham continues its growth momentum in the Asia Pacific region

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel in Cambodia, the Howard Johnson Plaza by Wyndham Blue Bay Sihanoukville, a new upscale hotel on the country’s tropical coast.

The 36-story property has 322 rooms and suites with city and sea views overlooking Independence Beach, each with a balcony.

The hotel is home to three restaurants, Andaman Sea, the all-day dining restaurant serving international favorites alongside Sichuan, Cantonese and Hunan cuisine; the Private Dining Room, serving local, Chinese and Western specialties; and the Infinity Lounge, which serves a refreshing array of beverages and cocktails.

Other on-site amenities include an outdoor swimming pool with panoramic sea views, a well-equipped fitness center, a spa, and a duty-free retail outlet.

Nestled at the tip of a peninsula on the Gulf of Thailand, Sihanoukville is known for its breathtaking beaches. Hotel guests can visit the Buddhist Wat Leu Temple, and head to Koh Rong Island for diving, snorkeling, and jungle hikes, as well as easy access to the famous Kbal Chhay Waterfalls and Phsar Leu Market.

Howard Johnson by Wyndham continues its expansion in Southeast Asia with the opening of Blue Bay Sihanoukville following openings for the brand in China and South Korea. Across Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio now operates over 1,500 hotels.

With a robust pipeline of franchise and management contracts across the region, the company anticipates more than 100 openings in Southeast Asia in the next three to five years.
