The all-inclusive space is getting another player.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts on Tuesday announced a new partnership with Playa Hotels & Resorts that will see Wyndham launch a new all-inclusive resort brand, Wyndham Alltra.

Alltra, which Wyndham said will be an “upper midscale all-inclusive resort brand,” gets its name from its tagline—All-Inclusive Travel for All. Wyndham says the brand will offer “upscale food and beverage, services, amenities, and activities with an expressive local flavor at an exceptional value,” with both family-friendly and adults-only resorts.

Alltra will open its first two properties in “time of the holidays in December 2021,” with the 458-room Wyndham Alltra Cancun and the 287-room Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen.

The Cancun resort will sit right in the destination’s Hotel Zone, with 10 eateries, multiple pools, and a focus on all guest types from families to groups to couples. The Playa del Carmen Resort will debut along the Riviera Maya, steps from 5th Avenue and just 34 miles from the Cancun airport.

According to Wyndham president and CEO Geoffrey A. Ballotti, there is a big potential for the brand to attract some of its 150 million annual guests and its over 80 million Wyndham Rewards members to the new properties.

“Partnering with a leading owner, operator and developer of all-inclusive resorts in prime beachfront locations, will create immediate access for our customers and our over 80 million Wyndham Rewards members to a fabulous, all-inclusive guest experience – members who will be able to redeem their Wyndham Rewards points for a new al-inclusive vacation experience.”

The move follows Marriott’s move to the same space, which was announced pre-pandemic and includes plans to build seven new all-inclusive resorts in the region.
