Sandals Sells Antigua Property

by Jessica Montevago  February 19, 2016

Sandals Resorts International announced today it sold Grand Pineapple Antigua to Elite Island Resorts.

The 180-room resort  in Long Bay will remain open and continue accepting bookings as it’s reflagged as Pineapple Beach Club, effective May 30.  Under the deal, Elite Island Resorts will honor reservations made after that date, as well as room rates.

Sandals said in 2013 it had plans to expand the property, which never came to fruition.

Sandals also operates Sandals Grande Antigua, and reportedly plans to build a Beaches Resort on the island.
