Sandals Resorts International has revealed more details about upgrades being made to three of its all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica.
The company will spend $200 million to renovate Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean, and Sandals South Coast, all of which have been closed since Hurricane Melissa hit in October 2025.
While they were initially set to reopen in May, Sandals has announced that they are undergoing more comprehensive renovations than initially expected. Now, Sandals South Coast will reopen on Nov. 18, and Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Montego Bay will reopen on Dec. 18.
Updates to the resorts will include refreshed entrances, new accommodation categories, redesigned pools, and updated lounge and social spaces, as well as new dining options. These large-scale renovations are part of what Adam Stewart, executive chairman of Sandals Resorts International, calls “Sandals 2.0.”
“The opportunity to completely reimagine three resorts at this scale, with full focus and without compromising the guest experience, is extraordinarily rare,” Stewart said. “With our doors closed, we were given something we almost never have in hospitality: a true blank canvas, and having that clarity changed everything.
“We spent time walking the properties, speaking with our team and thinking about our guests. At a pivotal moment, it became clear: we shouldn’t simply restore what was there,” he continued. “We should dream bigger. When we welcome our guests back, they’ll see the transformation and they’ll feel exactly why we chose to use this moment to create something worthy of their loyalty.”
