Howard Tanenbaum has joined Iberostar Hotels & Resorts as the company’s new vice president of sales, North America.
The hospitality sales veteran had retired in 2022, leaving his role of senior vice president of sales at Playa Hotels & Resorts, where he led sales operations for nearly a decade. Prior, he served as vice president of sales at Club Med for several years.
Tanenbaum announced his “un-retirement” in a LinkedIn post this week, saying he “missed the energy of the industry, the challenge of building great businesses, and most importantly, the incredible people who make our industry so special.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining Iberostar, a legendary, pioneer in all-inclusives with world-class resorts set in the most idyllic locations. Our amazing and talented teams are working harder than ever to shape the next chapter of growth and earn your business,” he said. “As I get settled into my new role, I’m looking forward to reconnecting with old friends, former colleagues, industry partners, and meeting plenty of new faces along the way.”
