OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels has appointed John Dominguez as the new director of sales and marketing at OUTRIGGER Kona Resort & Spa.

Dominguez brings more than 25 years of hospitality sales and marketing experience to the role. Most recently, he was the director of sales and marketing for the newly opened Outbound Sedona.

He has spent much of his career at resorts in Hawaii, including as director of sales and marketing at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa for 11 years, and other leadership roles across resorts in Waikīkī, Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Island. He is already familiar with OUTRIGGER Kona Resort & Spa because he was the director of sales and marketing and director of group sales when the property operated as a Sheraton-branded resort.

“John understands the Hawai‘i Island market, the resort, and the relationships that drive business to the destination,” said Geoffrey Pearson, General Manager at OUTRIGGER Kona Resort & Spa. “His experience leading sales teams, building market strategies and growing group business will support the resort’s revenue goals and long-term positioning.”

Dominguez will now be part of the resort’s executive committee and report to Pearson. He will oversee sales initiatives, brand communications, and industry partnerships to drive revenue for the property. OUTRIGGER also recently named Nathan Decker as its director of group sales.
