Explore Worldwide has announced new tour departures timed to catch the total solar eclipse in 2027 across North Africa. Each tour combines eclipse viewing with immersive cultural exploration across Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt.
On August 2, 2027, the total solar eclipse will pass through one of the sunniest regions on earth, with nearly five minutes of totality, making it one of the most watchable eclipses in decades.

New Eclipse Tour Departures for 2027:
The nine-day Highlights of Northern Morocco and Eclipse tour offers travellers the chance to experience the total solar eclipse above the skies of Tangier from the balcony of the historic Hotel de France, with uninterrupted views across the bay and expert astronomer guidance – offering the perfect spot to watch the celestial show unfold.
The tour also explores the contrasting imperial cities of Rabat and historic Fes, as well as the laid-back blue washed town of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Rates start from CA $3,890 per person, with four departures available in August 2027.
The 10-day Tunisian Coast, Ancient Carthage and Eclipse tour takes travellers on a journey through North Africa’s ancient wonders, from the legendary ruins of Carthage and the Roman Amphitheatre in El Djem to the sacred Great Mosque of Kairouan. The eclipse will be viewed from the beach in the coastal town of Sfax, with the central path of totality passing directly through the town. A local astronomer will provide expert information. The 11-day Classic Egypt and Eclipse tour features in-depth exploration of Egypt’s archaeological treasures combined with eclipse viewing on the banks of the Nile outside the small town of Minya. Travellers will experience over six minutes of totality, the longest of the century.
