G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions have announced eight new additions to their joint collection of itineraries, National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures.

Four of these curated trips are geared towards families with children and extended families and were added to the National Geographic Family Journeys with G Adventures collection, which encompasses 16 different trips out of the 89 in the entire collection. Ben Perlo, president of G Adventures, noted that the National Geographic trips have continued to be popular with travelers.

“National Geographic is a powerful household name, and G Adventures is the leader in small group trips and pioneer of community tourism. Together we have created a uniquely attractive holiday option for immersive exploration that really gets into the heart of local communities in the destinations we travel to,” Perlo said. “I’m especially thrilled to see our family collection growing, as more families look to spend time together sharing real-world experiences.”

The new itineraries focus on “hands-on exploration, photography, history, culture, nature and wildlife,” Perlo said, “so they truly bring learning and adventure together with some of the world’s most incredible settings as a backdrop.”

All trips are now available to book, with the first of the new itineraries starting in April 2024.

These are the destinations in the new National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures.

Wyoming
Travelers will go on walking wildlife tours in the American West as part of the new Iconic Wildlife of Yellowstone & Grand Teton itinerary. Local experts and naturalists will guide guests on a quest to see the area’s bountiful wildlife, which includes grizzlies, wolves, moose, bald eagles, and the elusive gray wolf.  Visitors will also see cascading waterfalls and geysers.

Peru and Bolivia
The Treasures of Peru & Bolivia tour joins two existing Peru and Bolivia itineraries in the National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures collection. On this new tour, travelers will explore ancient temples and terraces in Machu Picchu dating back to the Inca Empire. They’ll also see Peru’s former capital city, Cusco, as well as the cities of Sucre and La Paz in Bolivia to learn about the region’s native population.

Scotland
On the nine-day journey called Scotland: History & Highlands, travelers will visit castles, museums, and ruins to engulf themselves in Scottish history. They’ll also see the country’s charming villages and famous distilleries along the way.

Turkey
During the Cultural Wonders of Turkey tour, travelers will learn about the country’s rich history with visits to the cities of Istanbul, Pamukkale, Konya, Cappadocia, and others. In the city of Troy, visitors will meet the author of the book , who will discuss the impact of the Trojan War on Turkey.

And here are the new National Geographic Family Journeys with G Adventures.

Southwestern U.S.
The Southwest Family Journey: Sedona, Zion and the Grand Canyon offers family-friendly exploration of towering cliffs, colorful canyons, and some of the region’s most well-known landmarks, including the Grand Canyon, Montezuma Castle, Antelope Canyon, and more.

Belize
On this eight-day trip titled Belize Family Journey: Rainforests, Beaches & Ancient Caves, travelers will see stunning marine life, wildlife in the jungles, and ruins. Families can float on tubes through caves, spot jaguars at Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary and snorkel through the beautiful coral reefs.

Greece
Families can take a nine-day journey through the history of Greece on the Greece Family Journey: Stories of the Past tour. They’ll have access to interactive visits to the Acropolis, the Pantheon Museum and the Agora of Athens, where they’ll participate in ancient games, treasure hunts, and more. Plus, families can go snorkeling, swimming, and walking through the ancient villages.

Ireland
The Ireland Family Journey: Castles, Folklore & Gaelic Traditions tour will show families the scenic landscapes of the Ring of Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher, and Inisheer Island while teaching them about the history and folklore of Ireland.
