G Adventures Launches Flexible Booking Options

G Adventures has announced the launch of flexible booking options, designed to give travelers more flexibility and confidence when planning their next adventure.

Dubbed Stay Flexy Adventure Plans, G Adventures has introduced three levels of cancellation terms for travelers to choose from when booking.

On the basic level, “Flexy,” the small group tour operator will issue a full refund if a trip is cancelled at least 60 days before departure (and Lifetime Deposit is retained). The other two categories, “Flexier” and “Flexiest,” offer enhanced cancellation terms, Future Travel Credits, and additional pre-departure perks.

“These new flexible booking options provide agents with another tool to help turn ‘I’m thinking about it’ into ‘I’m booking it,” said David Green, global vice president, customer sales & solutions and managing director, Canada. “That final moment of hesitation is often driven by uncertainty, rather than a lack of desire to travel. Flex helps remove that uncertainty and offers travellers peace of mind when they lock in their adventure.”

Under Flexy, travelers who cancel between 59 and 30 days prior to departure will be refunded up to 50% of their tour cost, with the remainder subject to cancellation terms and Lifetime Deposit. For cancellations within 29 days, G Adventures will retain the Lifetime Deposit, with the remainder subject to cancellation fees.

Flexier extends the cancellation window and converts more cancellation penalties into Future Travel Credits, which are valid for 24 months. Travelers will receive a 50% refund, with the remainder split between Lifetime Deposit and Future Travel Credit, when canceling 59 to 30 days prior to departure, or the cost split between Lifetime Deposit and Future Travel Credit when canceling 29 to 21 days prior to departure.

The Flexier tier also includes a 1GB travel eSim, lost luggage protection of up to $500, priority service and double the trees grown on their behalf while on trip.

For maximum protection, travelers can opt for “Flexiest,” which protects traveler money up to five days before departure. In this tier, travelers will receive a 50% refund when canceling between 59 and 21 days prior to departure, or the amount back in a Lifetime Deposit and Future Travel Credits when canceling 20 to five days before departure.

Flexiest comes with a 3GB eSim, lost luggage protection up to $1,000, priority service and double the trees grown on their behalf while on trip.

G Adventures specified that the Flex plans are commissionable and non-refundable. Any trip extras added after booking, such as transfers, are automatically protected at no additional cost.

“It’s designed to be a genuinely useful product for agents, not another thing to explain at the point of sale,” added Green.
