Private guided luxury travel specialist Kensington has announced several new itineraries aimed at families and multigenerational groups.

The operator says the new trips reflect growing demand for hands-on cultural experiences, slower-paced exploration, and journeys that balance education, connection and luxury across generations.

“Multigenerational travel continues to shape how families plan vacations, particularly for longer summer trips,” said Helen Giontsis, President of Kensington.

Family travel in Japan.

“Both internal and industry research shows that more families are travelling with grandparents, parents, and children together, prioritizing destinations and itineraries that can accommodate a wide range of interests, mobility levels, and travel styles. In addition, we are seeing that families are booking major trips further in advance to secure preferred accommodations, guides, and exclusive access experiences.”

According to recent travel industry surveys including one from IMG Global, multigenerational trips now account for roughly one third of family travel, with summer travel seeing increased demand for longer stays, private guiding, and experiences that blend education, cultural immersion, and downtime.

The new itineraries include choices like: Italy for Families, Italy Ultra Luxe, Japan Family Fun, Unseen Greece: A Hidden Island Getaway,  Greece’s Peloponnese: Athens to Arcadia, Costa Rica Rainforest to Beach for Families, and New Zealand Family Vacation.

More New Itineraries Focused on Trends

In addition to its family and multigenerational journeys, Kensington has introduced a selection of itineraries centred on slower pacing and wellness-focused travel, reflecting continued demand for trips that prioritize rest, connection to nature, and unhurried exploration.

Personal Heritage Journeys

Kensington has recently expanded its partnership with Ancestry, pairing each journey with both a Kensington Destination Expert and a professional genealogist. Each itinerary is built around detailed family history research, guiding travelers to locations and stories central to their heritage.

With Ancestry’s expanded ability to trace African genealogy, Kensington has introduced new itineraries to West Africa, including Ghana. Highlights include the Door of No Return and visits to Accra, Kumasi, and Elmina. Additional heritage-focused journeys are available for families with roots in Poland, Germany, Scotland, Italy, and other European destinations.

Costa Rica Wellness Escape for Couples
This wellness-oriented journey focuses on slower pacing and natural settings. Travellers stay at a wellness resort with volcanic waters, explore Arenal’s landscapes on private nature walks, cruise by private catamaran, and enjoy curated dining experiences.

Swiss Alpine Villages & Bernina Express
Reflecting the growing interest in slow travel, this scenic journey through Zurich, Chur, Lenzerheide, Celerina, St. Moritz, Como, and Milan highlights alpine culture, nature, and slow exploration.

Southeast Asia Explorer & Mekong River Cruise
This itinerary combines land touring with a seven-night Mekong River cruise. Travellers explore Hanoi’s culinary scene, sail through floating markets and villages along the Mekong, and experience Cambodia’s historic temples including Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Bayon. Mekong cruises operate from August through April, with departures varying by cruise line.
