Railbookers Adds 5 Southeast Asia Itineraries with Overnight Rail Experiences

Rail tour operator Railbookers has announced the expansion of its Southeast Asia portfolio, adding five new locally guided vacations that combine packaged stays with an overnight rail experience.

The new itineraries include four Vietnam itineraries, as well as one visiting Laos and Thailand. The itineraries were created with Railbookers’ Locally Guided approach, which offers the freedom of independent travel with the reassurance of local support. Rather than a single tour leader, guests are paired with experts where applicable, and all logistics — such as transfers, sightseeing, rail bookings, and hotel accommodations — are coordinated in advance, leaving free time to explore each destination.

“Vietnam continues to grow in popularity, and we see a real opportunity to give travellers more ways to experience the country by rail,” said Andrew Channell, senior vice president of product at Railbookers.

The new itineraries include:

  • “Essential Vietnam,” an eight-day trip that connects Hanoi, Hoi An, and Ho Chi Minh City by rail.
  • “Classic Vietnam,” an 11-day journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.
  • “Best of Vietnam,” a comprehensive 15-day exploration of the country.
  • “Classic Vietnam and the Luxury Vietage Train,” a 15-day luxury journey.
  • “Laos and Thailand by Rail,” a 15-day multi-country itinerary that includes a Mekong River cruise.

“From the energy and history of cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the mountain and coastal scenery found throughout the country, there’s so much to experience along the way,” said Channell. “What makes these new vacations especially exciting is our Locally Guided approach. Travellers have the independence and flexibility they expect from Railbookers, but with local experts there to guide them, handle the logistics and help them get more out of each destination.”
