Travelex To Take Over Travel Agent Sales For BHTP
Travelex Insurance Services (Travelex) will be taking over Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection’s (BHTP) travel agency sales channel before the end of the year.
BHTP’s fixed benefits products will be available under the Travelex brands sometime in the fourth quarter, a Travelex spokeswoman said, at about the same time that Travelex will be enhancing some of its existing travel insurance plans, including Travel Basic and Travel Select.
Travelex will handle account management and customer service for any agents previously booking through BHTP. BHTP will continue to offer underwriting and claims services through Travelex, but will spend more of its time focusing on product innovation and direct to consumer sales.
Travelex’s sales team this fall will conduct agency trainings via webinar or in office and answer questions.
