TTC Restructures Brand Leadership as African Travel President Departs

The Travel Corporation (TTC) has created a new Specialist & Adventure Division following the departure of Sherwin Banda, president of African Travel, from TTC.

The new Specialist & Adventure Division encompasses African Travel, Brendan Vacations and Lion World Travel, bringing the three brands under one leadership model. TTC has appointed longtime TTC executive Guy Young to lead the division in the role of CEO of Specialist & Adventure, North America.

“Sherwin has played an important role in the growth of African Travel and has been a highly respected leader across the business. We thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future,” Young said. “We are confident in this new structure that allows TTC to scale its Specialist & Adventure brands while staying true to what makes each brand distinctive in the marketplace and ultimately, connecting people and places through meaningful travel experiences.”

Whitney Ramirez will also join the new division as senior vice president of sales. She most recently served as senior vice president of sales, North America, for TTC tour brands. Catherine Reilly will continue her Dublin-based role as managing director of Brendan Vacations.

Young noted that the development comes at a time of “unprecedented investment in product, technology and trade partnership support.” Each of the three brands will retain their brand identity and their dedicated sales, marketing, and call center support teams.

“The travel trade remains at the heart of our business,” Young said. “Bringing these brands together under one leadership structure allows us to work more closely behind the scenes, sharing expertise, scaling what works, and investing more effectively across the portfolio. That means we can continue to raise the bar on the experiences we deliver for our guests, while giving our trade partners even greater support, consistency and confidence as we grow.”
