African Travel Doubles Small Group Portfolio for 2027

African Travel will double its small group portfolio in 2027, with the addition new journeys, a return to Uganda, and new Tailor-Made itineraries.

The expanded collection gives clients more ways to experience the continent, from professionally planned small-group journeys with guaranteed departures for as few as two guests to highly personalized Tailor-Made travel. The collection arrives as African Travel marks 50 years of specializing exclusively in Africa, bringing five decades of destination expertise and local relationships to a new generation of journeys across the continent.

“What we’ve learned over 50 years is that there is no single way to experience Africa,” said Guy Young, CEO, TTC Africa Division. “Some travelers want every detail designed around them, while others want the ease and camaraderie of traveling with a small group. Our 2027 collection gives advisors more ways to match the experience to the traveler, backed by the Africa expertise and local relationships we’ve spent five decades building.”

One of the most significant additions for 2027 is the expansion of African Travel’s Locally Hosted Small Group portfolio. Designed for travelers who want the camaraderie of a small group, departures are guaranteed with just two guests and combine the expertise of knowledgeable local guides with personal time to explore at their own pace. 

African Travel now offers six Locally Hosted Small Group itineraries across East and Southern Africa with the addition of three new journeys joining the collection in 2027:

• A Taste of South Africa is an eight-day journey combining flexible sightseeing in Cape Town with game viewing in a private Kruger reserve. The journey can also be extended to Victoria Falls, Botswana’s Chobe National Park, or Mozambique’s beaches.
  
• Timeless Kenya & Tanzania Safari is a 12-day journey that explores two of East Africa’s most celebrated safari destinations and offers year-round wildlife viewing.
  
• Wild Botswana & Victoria Falls is a 10-day journey, traveling from the Kalahari to the Okavango Delta and onward to Victoria Falls.

African Travel is also expanding its Tailor-Made collection with new itineraries, accommodations and experiences across the continent. New journeys include Kenya Romance: From Bush to Beach, combining safari in some of Kenya’s premier wildlife regions with an Indian Ocean beach escape; Ultimate South Africa, pairing safari in two private game reserves with time in Cape Town; and Cape Town & Botswana, combining the energy and culture of Cape Town with two distinctive Botswana safari regions and accommodations including the recently updated Xugana Island Lodge.

The 2027 collection also marks African Travel’s return to Uganda, a destination the company has not featured for several years. Known for its remarkable diversity, Uganda offers mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi, chimpanzee encounters in Kibale Forest, and wildlife experiences in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls.
