Avoya Travel Expands Partnership with Tern

Host agency Avoya Travel is expanding its existing partnership with Tern after seeing about a 60% higher close rate for travel advisors using the technology.

Tern helps advisors manage their Avoya Live Leads, the network’s system for routing client inquiries to member agents. Not only has it increased users’ close rates since implementation, but Avoya has also seen that clients selected the higher-priced option roughly 50-60% of the time when Tern helped present them with multiple travel options.

“Live Leads is how many of our advisors grow their business, so we watch closely for what helps them close,” said Danny Dobrott, senior director of network success at Avoya Travel. “Advisors using Tern to manage their Live Leads communications are achieving higher close rates. That’s the return we look for.”

With the expanded partnership, all independent agency owners and independent licensed agents in the Avoya Network can request a Tern account at no additional cost; it is included in their affiliation fee once they complete onboarding through Avoya University. This more than doubles the amount of available Tern subscriptions across the host agency.

In addition, the renewed agreement will integrate Tern with Agent Power, Avoya’s in-house technology system for booking administration, commissions, and reporting, through a one-way sync from Tern to Agent Power.

“Our business is built on helping independent advisors grow, so every tool we put in front of them has to earn its place,” said Phil Cappelli, CEO of Avoya Travel. “The results we’ve seen with Tern made expanding access an easy decision. This partnership gives more advisors access to tools that can help them serve their clients and grow their businesses.”

Tern is a fast-growing travel technology company providing a variety of AI-powered tools to travel businesses. Over the past year, the company has entered partnerships with the likes of ALG Vacations and Nexion Travel Group, among others. Just last month, Tern also announced that it will expand into hotel distribution.
