New Opening: Tuscaloosa’s Alamite Hotel, Partially Owned by Nick Saban
by Daniel McCarthy /This week, The Alamite, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, officially opened in Tuscaloosa, Ala, just blocks away from the University of Alabama.
The hotel’s connection to the University of Alabama is more than just its location—the hotel is partially owned by Nick Saban, who has been the head football coach at University of Alabama since 2007, a tenure that includes six national championships.
“My wife, Terry and I, are excited to be a part of the ownership group for The Alamite,” Saban said.
“Not only will this investment benefit our local economy, but it also represents a new standard for design and comfort in downtown Tuscaloosa.”
The hotel sports itself as a “world-class boutique hotel with a regional soul,” and a property that pays homage to the storied history of the city it exists in. The hotel includes an art collection from prominent, southern female and its design employs a color palette and architectural details that pay tribute to Tuscaloosa’s history as the “City of Champions.”
In total, the hotel offers 112 guestrooms, meeting spaces, and a fitness center. It will also offer two eateries—Forte: Cuts & Cocktails, a brasserie-meets-steakhouse concept from executive chef Jacob Stull and Roll Call, an indoor/outdoor rooftop concept with a menu of sushi, pizza, sliders, and shared plates.
Because of its spot in Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, the hotel will participate in Marriott Bonvoy, the hotel company’s loyalty program.
