Canadians Start Planning Winter Vacations

Fort Lauderdale continues to rank high amongst Canadian’s favorite winter getaways.

Fort Lauderdale, FL, and international destinations outside of the U.S. are on the itinerary for Canadian vacationers planning trips during the holidays and early winter, according to search engine Kayak.

While Fort Lauderdale currently ranks as the most popular holiday destination, Canadians are searching for international destinations 50% more than last year, while interest in U.S. travel is down by 30%, according to Kayak. London and Honolulu are two of the most popular cities on Canadian travel wish lists, while Florida also ranks near the top.

Also, according to Kayak, Canadians are taking an average of 10 vacation days between Dec. 1, 2016, and Jan. 9, 2017.
