Marriott International is renovating and rebranding its seven Barbados properties, starting with three all-inclusive resorts this year.

The hotels in Marriott’s Elegant Hotels portfolio will each be reincorporated into either the Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio, or The Luxury Collection brands, after months of renovations that began in September 2023, by 2025.

Alex Fiz, area vice president for the Caribbean and managing director of all-inclusive for Marriott International, noted that the rebrand will “allow our visitors who are familiar with these to know exactly what they are getting when they stay with us.”

“They can expect a renewed experience with a more refined design, enhanced culinary offerings, and greater and more varied activities onsite,” he added. “The Elegant Hotels portfolio in Barbados for many years now have been among the legacy properties on the island. When Marriott acquired the seven resorts, we knew that in order to bring them up to each brand standards and in accordance to our product promise, these needed to get major renovations to reflect today’s more discerning expectations from our guests in both the all-inclusive and European plan segments.”

Treasure Beach, The House, and Waves Hotel & Spa will all enter Marriott’s Autograph Collection this year. In 2025, Tamarind will also enter the Autograph Collection, and Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach will join the Tribute portfolio. In addition, Colony Club, a non-all-inclusive, will join the Luxury Collection next year.

Renovations to Treasure Beach, The House, and Waves Hotel & Spa include room upgrades, restaurant enhancements, and public area transformations. During construction, Waves has partially closed its adults-only building, while Treasure Beach and The House are completely closed seasonally.
